I take ambiguous infrastructure problems and turn them into things a research team can depend on. That's meant leading a lakehouse build on Trino and Iceberg, standing up metadata and lineage tooling, writing a governance service from scratch when nothing off the shelf fit, running Kubernetes and AWS under regulatory constraints, and evaluating a lot of tools honestly enough to reject most of them. I work from first principles and I'd rather read the source than the marketing page — a habit that carries over to my own bench, where I reverse-engineer hardware for fun.

Right now: trying to find an Orba 2/3 or Chorda I can take apart. Working on custom firmware for the Heltec V4.

Artiphon preservation

Artiphon filed Chapter 7 in August 2025. Firmware updates stopped, the cloud services are winding down, and the desktop app loses features with them. This is an effort to document the lineup well enough that the instruments keep working without the company behind them.
